Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1981, Pantera struggled for a long time due to releasing albums on independent labels, but in 1986, with the addition of a new vocalist, Phil Anselmo, their sound evolved, and their fifth album, *Cowboys From Hell*, released in 1990 on the major label ATCO, finally charted at No. 117 on the Billboard 200.Then, with their seventh album, *Far Beyond Driven*, released in 1994, they finally reached No. 1 on the U.S. album charts. In response, the band embarked on their first world tour, *Far Beyond Touring the World*, consisting of 118 shows.
