Pleyel, known for piano manufacturing, was a composer who once studied under Haydn and was highly acclaimed in the late 18th century.The string quintets he composed between 1785 and 178912 published during his lifetime and one unpublishedare captivating for their lively dynamism, the harmony of their beautiful melodies, and the grace that radiates from within. They were so popular that pirated sheet music began to circulate. The three pieces included here served as the inspiration that spurred Mozart to compose his own masterpieces in this genre.
