A collection of organ works by the American organist and composer Kuman. Kuman serves as Composer-in-Residence at Harvard Universitys Memorial Church and is a versatile musician who is also active as a critic and consultant. His organ works span a wide range, from delicate and mystical miniatures to music for liturgy and prayer, as well as dynamic concert pieces, including three organ symphonies. While this album primarily features secular works, it also includes pieces with religious themes, such as the title track. The performer is Hartmann, a leading German organist who serves as cantor (church musician) in the Ulm region. This recording was also made in Ulm. He has given 600 recitals in Europe to date, specializes in American and British music, and has had 40 works dedicated to him. The album also includes world premiere recordings.Naxos Japan
