Description:

German composer Enno Poppe, born in 1969, is a musician who approaches electronic music with an attitude called sympathetic skepticism. This work with nine synthesizers uses sounds from the 1960s and 1970s, such as FM, Minimoog, and Piganino, but instead of using the sounds as they are, he modulates and reconstructs them on the computer to create music. In “I,” the piece begins with a simple bleeping sound, in “II,” the drone of noise dominates, and in “III,” each element intertwines with the other, transforming and developing significantly. The performer is required to have more skill in manipulating electronic sounds than as a keyboard player. It is electronic music created with the performer’s physicality, and can be called post-digital music. King International Inc.
