The first piece is a unique work with a distinctive tension and fantastic harmony with cosmic expansiveness. The technical soloism of the second movement, the scherzo, and the beautiful lyricism and buoyancy of the two end movements are superb. Peach plays this worldview in shades of gray. The orchestra and the violin soloist play as if they are in splendid dialogue with each other.
