• In 1974, just a few months after the release of her debut album, Queen was already headlining a major tour of Great Britain. With their second single Seven Seas of Rhye they landed their first top 10 hit. Queen II is dark, pompous and bizarre rock, dominated by Brian May’s orchestral, singing guitar sound. The compositions on the A-side are by Brian May and Roger Taylor, but the highlight are the tracks on the B-side by Freddy Mercury. Most of the tracks were later not played live due to their complexity.
