Charles Villiers Stanford, a composer from Ireland, left behind a vast body of work, including seven symphonies. Although he is regarded as a key figure in the development of 19th-century British music, by the 20th century he had been all but forgotten, with the exception of a few choral works.This album features a variety of Stanfords art songs performed by renowned baritone Roderick Williams and young tenor James Way, who won second place at the 62nd Kathleen Ferrier Prize in 2017.
