A new masterpiece by Roland Wilson, Musica Fiata, and La Chapelle Ducale!On February 22, 1568, the Munich Celebrations were held over a two-week period to commemorate the wedding of Prince Wilhelm of Bavaria (later Duke Wilhelm V of Bavaria) and Renata, daughter of Duke Franois I of Lorraine. Numerous nobles and ambassadors from across Europe were invited. During the ceremonies, the finest musiciansselected not only from the Munich Hofkapelle (the court chapel) but also the finest musicians selected from the court chapels of Graz and Innsbruck, ensuring that the finest music was performed. Lasso composed a new work specifically for this occasion. Annibale Padovanos 24-Part Mass and Alessandro Striggios Motet for 40 Voices were also composed for this event.
