Rostam (Rostam Batmanglij)

Description:

This is the first new album in over five years from Rostam, a founding member of Vampire Weekend. On this album, he blends Americana with Persian traditions, fusing fingerpicking guitar, pedal steel, and strummed chords with the microtonal melodies characteristic of Persian music. I felt that the connection between East and West was the music I needed to make on this album, he says. The result is an album that is deeply personal yet unmistakably American.
