RUBEL, Brazil’s leading SSW, a return to Brazilian music and a new masterpiece! ! Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1991, Hubel comes from a musical family. After going to Austin, Texas as an exchange student for college, Hubel released his first album, “Pearl,” in 2013. Although the album did not make much of a splash when it was first released, Huber quickly came into the spotlight in 2015 when the video clip for “Quand Bate Aquela Saudade,” a song from “Pearl,” attracted attention (the song is still one of Huber’s most popular songs in Brazil to this day! ). With financial support from Natura, a Brazilian natural cosmetics company, Hubel released her second album, Casas, in 2018. While “Pearl” was a folk album with an acoustic sound, “Casas” is a chamber-folk work that boldly incorporates hip-hop, electronics, and orchestral instruments.
