This SACD single layer release of Vant’s Schumann Symphony No. 4 has received many requests for a SACD release. The incandescent Berlioz is also a treat to hear, but the majestic manner in which Schumann No. 4 is performed is something that only Vant and the N Symphony Orchestra of the time could have achieved. The deep resonance of the opening movement draws you in at once, and the passion from the third movement is so great, with a spectacular brass showcase, that it is a tremendously great performance. It is truly worth a listen. King International
