Description:

A collection of 17th- to 19th-century trumpet ensemble works performed on period instruments. It features a wealth of rare pieces, including Mozarts Divertimento (said to have been composed for outdoor performances), two much-discussed marches by Salieri, and a rare march by Weber. The Schwanthaler Trumpet Consort is an ensemble founded in 2000 to perform works from the 16th through the 18th centuries. The ensemble typically consists of up to eight trumpeters and a timpanist, though it occasionally incorporates organ and trombone. It is active primarily in festive concerts in Vienna.Naxos Japan
