Chichibu guitarist Shin Sasakubo and Mozambique percussionist Matchume Zango,The sound world is one of magical realism and spellbinding magic with guitars, percussion, and mbira (thumb piano).In the summer of 2024, the two entered a studio in Kofu, played together without sharing a booth, and recorded in half a day.The two musicians recorded the album in half a day, playing together without a separate booth. The backgrounds and landscapes of Chichibu and Mozambique overlapped organically to complete the album.The title of this album, “Kalamuka,” means “soul cure” in Mozambican.This is Shin Sasakubo’s 42nd album.
