A highly anticipated meeting and program Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra record Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 15 Master musician Haitink leads the RCO in a recording of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 15, a piece in his repertoire that has been in his hands for many years. The recording was made live at the subscription concert held in March 2010. Haitink, who is widely recognized as an “expert on Shostakovich” through the completion of the first complete symphony recording in the West, recorded Symphony No. 15 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in March 1978, soon after the start of the complete symphony project, and this is his first recording in 32 years. This is the first re-recording in 32 years.
