A DVD box set looking back at the music Rattle has created with the Berlin PhilharmonicSir Simon Rattle has served as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Berlin Philharmonic since 2002. Before his term ends in June 2018, the EUROARTS label will release a 7-disc DVD box set featuring performances that epitomize the partnership, selected from previously released video recordings. DVD 1 features footage of the 1993 performances of Symphonie fantastique and Les Borades, which marked the first step in Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonics journey together. As Rattle himself has said of Rameaus masterpiece *Les Borades*, performed here: As a teenager, I was deeply moved by a performance by Elliott Gardiner and was immediately captivated. From that moment on, this piece became a part of my musical life, as Rattle himself has said, and he still enjoys including it in his concerts to this day. DV
