  With a crossover mixture of funk and metal, which had its role models in Black Sabbath, Sly & the Family Stone and Living Colour, and politically explicit, i.e. feminist and anti-racist lyrics, the multi-ethnic quartet Skunk Anansie, founded in London in 1994 by the bald frontwoman Deborah Anne Dyer (“Skin”), mixed up the pop market from the mid-nineties.
