An album by Ukrainian violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv that sheds light on the music of her homeland, spanning from the past to the present. The recent works included on this album were created amid the tense situation and turbulent days surrounding Ukraine since February 2022. The album features Lacrimosa, in which Poleva transformed the tragedy of the civilian massacre in Bucha into a requiem; a suite for solo violin by Havrylets, who passed away suddenly in the early days of the invasion; Krivopusts By the River, a tribute to the 2014 Independence Square protests, and the Ukrainian Suite, which celebrates modern Ukrainian identity. The album also features works by 20th-century composers such as Zaleski and Prydatkevych, who fled to the United States to escape the war.
