One of the key elements in Herzkis works is time. When I think of war, I think of the various times experienced there. The time felt by a fighter pilot, the time when a bomb explodes on the ground… These various differences in the perception of time, all occurring in a single place, form the core of my compositions (Herzkis words). In her works, these sensations vary widelyfrom time that feels devoid of a pulse to time that accelerate
