• By 1973, Marc Bolan and T. Rex had already solidified their place as glam rock icons, riding high on the success of albums like Electric Warrior (1971) and The Slider (1972). With Tanx, Bolan took a bold step forward, blending his signature boogie-laden rock with horn arrangements, soul influences, and even hints of proto-punk energy. While it didnt achieve the same level of commercial dominance as its predecessors, Tanx remains an underrated gem in the T. Rex catalogmore experimental, moody, and diverse than anything Bolan had done before.
