A collection of rhapsodies recorded by Sri Lankan composer Tanya Ekkanayaka (1977) performing on piano. Each piece on this album blends melodies from well-known Sri Lankan folk songs with classical works. While incorporating melodiessuch as those by Chopin and Beethoventhat sound vaguely familiar, each piece possesses a subtle fluctuation, creating a mysterious musical experience in which a sense of dj vu and a sense of dissonance seep into the listeners being in perfect balance. As the title suggests, this album conveys a sense of Reinventionsworks created anew. Recorded in 2014. (C)RS
