Hailing from California, Testament was one of the leading bands in the thrash metal scene alongside Metallica when they debuted in 1986. Their fifth album, *The Ritual*, released in 1992, reached No. 55 on the U.S. album charts. After several lineup changes and steadily improving with each album release, their 10th album, *Dark Roots of Earth* (original title: *Dark Roots of Earth*), released in 2012, reached No. 12 on the U.S. album charts.To coincide with the albums release, they embarked on a large-scale world tour, the DarkRootOfEarthTour, comprising a total of 64 shows across North America, South America, Asia, and Europe. The highlight of this tourtheir performance at a festival in Germany on August 4 of that yearwas recorded and broadcast as a special television and radio program. This album is a live recording based on the audio from that broadcast and features a complete recording of the
