Tony Joe White is a singer/songwriter born in southern Louisiana whose songs have been featured by Elvis Presley, Brooke Benton, and many other artists. This album (his seventh in total), his first for the 20th Century label, known for Barry White (“Theme of Love”), is a masterpiece that further deepens the swamp rock he pioneered, injecting his Southern identity into a more sophisticated, mellow groove.
