Three French Trios by Trio CarnineThree piano trios by French composers. The program includes works by Faur, Ravel, who was also a student of Faur, and Tailleferre, who studied with Ravel. Faur’s work was completed in 1923, late in his life; Ravel’s work was completed around 1914; and Tailleferre’s work, in four movements, was written in 1917, but he had been away from it since the first part, not completing it until 1978. Although all were composed in the 20th century, each of the three works has its own world. Trio Carrenine’s dashing and refreshing performance allows the audience to enjoy the different tastes of the three works. Trio Carrenine is a piano trio formed in 2009. The name comes from Tolstoy’s novel “Anna Karenina. They studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with the Ysae String Quartet and took master classes with Menahem Pressler and Bayerle.
