Born in Romania in 1986, the young countertenor Veral Barna-Sabadus is taking the world by storm with his looks and astonishing voice. Following last years collection of castrato arias by Gluck and Sacchini, his second solo album on Sony Classical is already here. This album features a collection of arias composed by Antonio Caldara (16701736), who was active around the same time as Vivaldi. Although the arias Caldera wrote for castrati are peppered with challenging coloratura passages, Sabadus displays superb technique, a beautiful voice, and a rich range of expression, delivering these extremely difficult arias with great individuality.Sony Music
