The Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, becomes the near future with projection mapping! Turandot” directed by Frank Aru, video designer of the Spanish stage production group La Fra dels Baus. Projection mapping fills the Gran Teatre del Liceu, depicting a spectacular production and an exciting future. The title role is played by Swedish-born Irene Theorin, one of the leading dramatic sopranos of our time. She has sung Turandot in theaters all over the world as a hit role, and sang the same role at the New National Theatre in 2008 to great acclaim. Caraf is sung by Jorge de Leon, a tenor from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands. He sang the role of Kalaf with a magnificent, elongated voice. And for Liu, Hermonella Yao from Albania. The diverse lineup of singers and their lively exchanges are not to be missed. K
