Vaudou Game

Description:

Peter Solo is a singer-songwriter from Togo, a small West African nation located between Ghana and Benin. He specializes in tribal Afro-funk and leads his own group, the “Kakaraku Band.” Having gained significant popularity in Europe, his next step is the launch of “Voodoo Game,” a live band with a powerful contemporary funk sound, and the long-awaited release on “HOTCASA,” a label renowned for its reissues of African recordings. The album features 10 tracks created by blending vintage Afro-funk analog tapes with raw, live performances on vintage-style instruments. Evoking the spirit of legendary groups like Poly-RythmoDeCotonou and ElRego, while also drawing influence from the James Brown Orchestra and Otis Redding, a new generation of Afro-soul classics is born here.
