A collection of works by French composer ric Tanguy.Tanguy, who studied under Ivo Marek and Grard Grisey at the Paris Conservatory, demonstrated his talent by winning numerous awards and scholarships, and in 1999, he expanded his scope by receiving a commission from Rostropovich for a cello concerto; today, his works are performed by numerous orchestras and ensembles.This album features three works. The Clarinet Concerto was commissioned by Pierre Genisson to be performed alongside Mozarts concerto of the same name; while possessing a contemporary sound, it retains an atmosphere that is somehow reminiscent of Mozarts lyricism. The Violin Concerto No. 2 was composed in 1997 and revised in 2003; it adopts a classical three-movement form, with virtuosic cadenzas in the first and third movements.
