Wagner spent more than 20 years composing the opera cycle *The Ring of the Nibelung*, from its conception to its completion. A full performance of all four parts*Das Rheingold*, *Die Walkre*, *Siegfried*, and *Gtterdmmerung*lasts approximately 15 hours. For this reason, staging the complete cycle is no easy task, and the work has long been enjoyed in concert settings and various abridged arrangements. Now, an orchestral version of *The Ring* by renowned German arranger Andreas N. Talchmann has been released. While Talckmann has, of course, arranged this as a highlights version, he has succeeded in capturing the essence of *The Ring* by organically linking the four fully articulated parts without disrupting the flow of the drama.
