A Collection of Wagners Operatic Works Performed by a Chamber Music Ensemble!Wagner composed very few chamber music workssuch as string quartets, piano trios, sonatas for solo instruments with piano accompaniment. The Romantic Quartet wondered whether there was a valid reason to perform these works in home-style arrangements and whether such an approach would even work. However, drawing on our experience arranging and performing a wide variety of works, we concluded that if the arrangement is well-done, it can work. Based on arrangements by Leopold Wenninger and others, this album faithfully captures Wagners artistic vision through an ensemble of violin, cello, harmonium, and piano.Tokyo M Plus
