With roots in the early San Jose folk/coffeehouse scene, they were close friends with Jefferson Airplanes Jorma Kokkonen and reportedly jammed with them often. Billy was a close friend of Skip Spence since high school, and the two performed together as a folk duo in their early days.This marks the first-ever reissue of the rare single featuring Saratoga James and Just Yesterday, originally released as a promotional-only item in 1968.In contrast to their usual electric edge, this single offers a glimpse of a gentler, more folk-oriented side of the band, featuring beautiful acoustic guitar, fingerpicking, and lovely vocal harmonies
