This album was produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Austria. It primarily features art songs by Austrian composersincluding Wolf, Schubert, Richard Strauss, and Mahleras well as songs by Chinese composers, all performed by Wang Xin, a Chinese soprano based in Austria.Wang Xin is a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and, having previously served as casting director at the Vienna Volksoper, is a familiar figure to Austrian audiences. In addition, Danish-American pianist Niels Mooswho is also internationally renowned as an opera conductorperforms on a Julius Forlich 280 piano, manufactured in Germany in 1928.
