Born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1981, he began playing the piano at age 6 and the French horn at age 13, and is now one of the most promising French horn players today. His father is also a French horn player, and his mother is an oboist. and his grandfather was a pianist. He studied under Ferenc Tljai at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and, beginning in 2002, studied under Christian Friedrich Dalmann and Markus Burgayer at the Hans Eisler School of Music in Berlin. At the age of 17, he won first prize and a special award at the Concertino Prague competition. He went on to place in numerous other competitions, and in 2005, at the age of 24, he won first prize at the Munich International Competition.
